Laraine Lehner (Kendall), Class of '60

About-Baker: At Baker, I was in TriHiY, National Honor Society and the BHS Band, where I learned to play the flute and piccolo..I was a majorette my senior year. My most fond memories are those of the band and the friendship we all had for each other.

After-Baker: After graduation I attended Grady hospital's School of Nursing and Georgia State University. I worked as a pediatric nurse for 10 years at Egleston Hospital for Children, before deciding to further my education at GSU, where I received a BS in Biology in 1977.I entered medical school that year at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and graduated with my M.D. in 1981.I interned at Emory University and since my husband was transferred to Chicago, I completed my residency at the University of Chicago and Michael Reese Hospital. While there, I was privileged to work with Dr. Sam Gotoff in his research on the H Flu vaccine for children, which was approved the next year and is now saving children's lives. I was married in 1964 to Steve Kendall and we have two children. Our daughter lives in CT and has 3 young sons. Our son lives in Atlanta and has one young son. Both are expecting again in May! We're hoping for girls this time. My husband and I recently retired and we are traveling fools! We plan to spend most of next year living abroad...and frequenting the golf courses.
