James "Jim" Pierce, Class of '66

my how times have changed. Oh, this is me years ago, not a recent photo after all...
Photo taken of me at work in a computer room, 2002. Yes, I'm smiling, just very tired.

About-Baker: I enjoyed History and English class. And working in the library. Memories fade of most of the rest of my high school days...

After-Baker: I spent 6 years in the U.S. Navy as an electronics technician. Honorable Discharge under honorable conditions. No combat experience, but the destroyer squadron I was part of was given a Meritorious Unit Commendation for going over towardsJordon in 1970. They had been invaded. I have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Applied Computer Science, i.e. computer programming. But its all obsolete now. I presently do tech support for a living. I am single and have no children. My ambition is to become a full time author and live on the Earth's moon. A few years ago I found out I have Cherokee ancestors via my mother's grandparents. I plan on settling down and getting married some day. I've think I've gotten sexier as I age.

I was looking at my 1966 annual recently, and I saw something that some folks might be wondering about.

I had written 'Roses are red, and violets are blanu', but it must have been considered a typographical error and got changed to 'Roses are red, and violets are blue'.

Its from a sf/futuristic article I read in 1966 dealing with language changes over time and how to handle them in science fiction stories without puzzling the reader. My apologies for not explaining it sooner.
