Robert Alan "Bob" Ashley July 2, 2004 BATON ROUGE, LA - Robert Alan "Bob" Ashley a retired federal bank examiner and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Friday, July 2 at 2:30 a.m. at his home. He was 52 and a native of Columbus. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, William Earl Ashley. Graveside services will be held in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Ala., at 2 p.m. Eastern time, Tuesday July 6. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Julia Boswell Ashley; mother, Ila Sauls Ashley; stepson, Eric Williams; sister, Martha Ann Gillespie; brother, Billy R. Ashley; step grandson, Austin Williams. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Baton Rouge or Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., in charge of arrangements.
