James "Jim" Campbell, Class of '70



At Baker: Not that active - Former Army brat, mediocre trumpet player in band, wrote a play, Most Individual, enjoyed pick-up "touch" football games on weekends at South Columbus, worked after school so I wouldn't have to join the army "after Baker." ..................... After Baker: Georgia Tech (co-oped with Georgia Power)Electrical Engineering degree; worked in offshore oil & gas exploration in many places and on way too many rigs; "retired" around 1985, collected a couple of masters degrees; studied for a PhD at Penn (Philadelphia)in Energy Management & Policy, Research fellowship in Paris, France; worked as economic consultant in energy efficiency, renewable energy, utility rates, and electricity deregulation in Philadelphia & Washington, DC areas. Have spent the last five years working for the federal government in energy regulation. ........................ Personal: Married & Divorced. Travel for vacation (never enough), Still playing softball, snow-skiing, as well as whitewater rafting, kayaking & canoeing. Also have enjoyed volunteer work in the area (mostly river clean-ups and building energy-efficient houses for Habitat for Humanity). I plan to stay in the DC area, but have visited Columbus (family) occasionally over the years.
