John T. Doheny, III, Class of '70

Being an "Army Brat" I attended 5 different high schools in 4 years. I only attended Baker for the last 6 months of my senior year but did have a great experience. I also reconnected with a few folks that I knew from Muscogee Elementary, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Benning Hills Elementary that I knew when my father was stationed at Benning years before. (By the way...I went to 15 different schools in 12 years!) My most memorable day at Baker...registering as a new student. Principal Oscar Boyles sent me, my brother, and my sister home. I had to shave my mustache off, my brother had to get a haircut, and my sister had to change from culottes to something acceptable! What a start! I graduated from Columbus College, B.S. in Sociology, raised a fine son, then went on to get my M.S. in Community Counseling at Columbus State University. I am a therapist at at The Bradley Center of St. Francis and an adjunct faculty member at CSU. I stayed in Columbus because I love it here.
