Shirley Malaybalay Sabordo (Woodham), Class of '71

During the racial episode when the whites met in the cafeteria and the blacks met in the gym, Barbara Chen & I stood in the hallway and looked totally baffled, "Where do WE go??", I asked. We decided to spend 15 minutes in each room to be politically correct. After graduation, I went to nursing school in Chicago, and came back to Columbus to marry Larry Lamar Woodham ('70 Jordan grad) in 1973. Spent time in Frankfurt, Germany then moved to Atlanta and worked several years for Grady Hospital as a medical admin assistant. Formed my own polynesian dance troupe, "Kele's Pacific Paradise" 20 yrs ago using primarily family members. We have performed throughout the southeast to include the 1996 Olympics. In 1996, we were blessed to adopt the most beautiful son who has completed our lives. Dec 1999, by God's precious mercy, I survived an aneuryism that ruptured in my brain stem. I was at Emory University hospital's ICU for 3 wks. The Lord spared my life to be able to raise my son. We now live in Lilburn, Ga. and Larry will be retiring from the Dekalb Co. Sheriff's dept soon.
