James Edmond Tinnie, Class of '87

About-Baker: I guess I was a bit of a nerd, but I did have some athletic and musical ability. I did reasonably well in most of my classes, but I sometimes got a little lazy. With a little more motivation, I'm sure I could have been even better in my classes. I was active with the chorus every year, even though I wasn't always in the class. I also played in the band my junior year. Tennis was the first sport I went out for. I played a couple of years. Next was soccer which I played my last two years. During my senior year, I played football against my parents wishes. They were worried about me getting hurt which was part of the reason I hadn't played earlier. Even thought I didn't get much game time, I really enjoyed being out there on the practice field, even if the defense mainly used me for target practice. :)

After-Baker: It took a while, but I after my third school, I graduated in '94 with a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Columbus College. I bounced through so many majors. When I found theatre, it was something I really enjoyed. A few months after graduating, I went to work in the cruise line industry as a stage manager/audio engineer/lighting technician. I worked on several ships for various lines. I got to see the world!!! I had some of the most memorable experiences of my life while working on cruise ships.

Now, I live in Burbank, California. I've been here for about two years. I thought I'd give Hollywood a try. It's slow going, so I'm now in shool again getting certified as an IT Professional. It will provide me with a stable career while still occasionally getting to work as an actor.
