Dear Fellow Lions:
Forgive the delay, I received the email below from Elaine Miller Filipiak, BHS '64 notifying me last Sunday evening of the passing of Mary Ann Collins, sister of Nick D. Haick Jr., BHS '63, and Jimmy D. Haick, BHS '65.

A Rosary will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in the Striffler-Hamby chapel on Macon Rd. Her family will receive friends immediately afterward from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. All are invited to the funeral services at 1:00 PM, on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Columbus, GA, with Father Frank Patterson officiating, followed by a graveside service at Park Hill Cemetery.

I received this email from our classmate, Jim Payne, BHS '64:


NICK CALLED ME TODAY.  HIS SISTER MARY ANN PASSED AWAY AT DUKE UNIVERSITY.  SHE HAD FOUGHT LEUKEMIA FOR THE LAST 3 PLUS YEARS.  

LETS' ALL PLACE NICK IN OUR PRAYERS.  HE IS A BRAVE WARRIOR, BUT WE ALL NEED HELP.  SHE WAS A BRAVE LADY TO FIGHT THE WAY SHE DID AGAINST THE LEUKEMIA.  

SHE WILL BE BURIED IN COLUMBUS.  I DON'T KNOW WHETHER IT WILL BE TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY.  CALL STRIFFLER-HAMBY.  THEY WILL PROBABLY HAVE THE DETAILS TOMORROW AFTERNOON.  

ANYBODY YOU HAVE FROM THE 63 CLASS, PLEASE GET THEM ALSO.  YOU HAVE MANY MORE E-MAIL ADDRESSES THAN I DO.
