NOTES:

* E-gorespondent James W. Harris initiated this entry, and provided the
following details:

I checked your list.... and I did not see a reference to "V-Man".... who
hosted a daily late-afternoon horror / s-f show in Columbus, Georgia in
the mid-60's.
V-Man's schtick was that he was an alien, and the movies were REAL -- he
was showing things from earth's past, present and future on his monitor.
He also showed old serials, chapter by chapter.
He ended daily as I recall, by facing the camera, making the "V" peace
sign, and saying "Peace -- to the Universe!"
He was a local celebrity of sorts -- I remember him visiting junior high
when I was a student, in full alien costume and mask.

* Important details were added by two E-gorespondents —

Frank Ferrell provided specifics:

Your list includes an entry for V-MAN. I can give you extra details.
V-MAN's show aired during late afternoons on WRBL TV-3 (originally TV-4)
in Columbus, GA. V-MAN was portrayed by one Jim Carlisle, whose other
local claim to fame was as host of Columbus-based Pro Wrestling Bouts
every Saturday Afternoon on WRBL.
You can contact WRBL @ http://www.wrbl.com/ and see if they can locate
some V-MAN memorabilia. More info on WRBL itself is on a site of mine at
http://fgf2001.100megsfree3.com/tower/
Thanx-A-Lot and Enjoy,
Frank

Larry Waldrup also sent details with his memories of watching the show:

V-Man was portrayed by WRBL TV-3's Jim Carlisle who also did Fred Ward's
Live Wrestling from the Arena on Saturday afternoons. V-Man during the
week and wrestling broadcaster on Saturday.
I have managed to locate a photo card of the V-Man character which I am
forwarding to you. I didn't remember but I guess by the card that the
name of his show was "Blast Off." The ad was emailed to me by a friend
and I'm not sure which galaxy, I mean, source it came from. Glad you
were able to use it and post it for all to enjoy!
The show appeared during the mid 60's and ran from 4:30-6:30 p.m. which
kept all of us kids glued to the TV from the time we got home from
school until dinner time. His show was completely centered around the
old B Horror Movies such as The Crawling Eye, House of Wax etc. Gosh,
how I loved and now miss those old cornball movies.
V-Man sat at a mock spacecraft cockpit control panel and would greet his
viewers, then introduce the movie and close each show by holding up two
fingers as pictured and say, "Peace to the Universe." I do not recall
him having a sidekick, not even a robot.
As for Jim Carlisle, he passed away a number of years ago. I worked for
a short time with his brother several years ago.
Until next time...Peace, to the Universe.
