Relocation Progress Report

I will try to keep everyone up to date on progress of moving @Baker to its new home by posting notices here. I'll put new information at the top so you don't have to re-read everything. (If you are interested in the gory details, you can read about them here: http://baker.hs.org/misc/conversion_2006.html. That page is mostly notes to myself, so I can remember what I did, and won't be too interesting to most people.)

July 30

Everything has been transferred, and the page you're reading is running on the new site. Good! The login program has been converted to PHP 5 (the new version of our programming language that's on the new computer.) You can log in, but you can't do very much afterwards because not much else has been converted to PHP 5.

You can retrieve contact information for other Lions, which we think is one of the most important functions of @Baker.

The mailing lists are working only sporadically for reasons I don't understand. I'm workin' on it! In the mean time, you can write to me here: B Brown at S P S U dot E D U

The Web Slave (Sylvia Head, '79) cannot do new What's New? text because that depends on the database functions.

At the moment, restoring mail functions has first priority because we have to have that working before we can restore mailing the mailing lists.
